The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) was established for holding and conducting examinations at the end of Intermediate, Education, Secondary Education, Sanskrit Education and Madrasa Education and for prescribing courses of studies for such examinations and for recommending for recognition of Intermediate Educational Institutions, High Schools, Sanskrit Schools and Madrasas to the State Government and for carrying out such other or duties assigned to the council by the State Govt from time to time.
Under the dynamic leadership of the State Govt. all the branches of education Secondary, Intermediate Sanskrit (Madhyama) and Madrasa were brought under the single umbrella of Jharkhand Academic Council with the sole intention that all the branches of learning got equitable and unified attention.

Every year the Jharkhand Academic Council conducts Annual Intermediate Examination as one of its primary examination.
The JAC will release the timetable for Intermediate 2016 exams a few months prior to the exams to allow the students ample time to prepare.
