Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU), formerly known as Nagarjuna University was established in 1976 in Guntur. What started with just 10 post graduate courses, over a period of time grew to 47 courses. It was only possible due to the dedicated staff of 150 teaching members. Acharya Nagarjuna University has approximately 450 affiliated colleges in Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam Districts.
ANU offers Master’s degree in Law, Arts, Commerce, Mathematics and Sciences. There are also a few Self Finance courses to choose from in the fields of Sociology, Rural Developmentand Microbiology etc. Acharya Nagarjuna University homes a few research centers giving optimum exposure during their courses. The centers include Disaster Mitigation Studies Centre, Centre for Women's Studies, Centre for Scientific Socialism, Centre for Mahayana Buddhist Studies, Ambedkar Research Centre for Social Policy, Prof. K.S. Murthi Centre for the study of Afro-Asian Philosophies. The Library stores close to 1,23,200 number of articles that includes Books, Back Volume of Journals, Films, CD’s, periodicals (Indian and Foreign), Government Reports.
Nagarjuna University has conduct many exams on a regular basis for their UG/PG courses like Degree, BEd, B.E, B.Tech, MSc, MCA, M.Phil, Ph.D, MCS, BCS, LLB, LL.M, BA, BSc, BEM, MBM, MA, BBA, MBA, B.Com, M.Com, BCA, M.Tech, and Distance Education etc Semester/Yearly.
